An honest 60-second fit check. Sometimes the answer is "no — stick with cloud tools." That's fine too.
Questions people actually ask
Why not just use ChatGPT or Claude?
For most things, you should — they're excellent and I'll say so. The difference is where your words go. Cloud AI sends every question to someone else's computer. What does "private" actually mean here?
The model runs on hardware you own, on your own power and network. There's no account, no usage log on a company server, and no terms of service that can change next year. Unplug the internet and it still works.
Do I need to be technical to own one?
No. It arrives assembled, configured, and plugged in. You open a window and type — the same as any chat app. If you'd rather never see a terminal, you never will.
How long does a build take?
Usually one to three weeks from the consult, depending on parts. The consult itself is free, and it's the only step where I might tell you not to buy anything.
Which areas do you cover?
San Jose and the wider San Francisco Bay Area — including Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Cupertino, Campbell, Los Gatos, Milpitas and Fremont. Installs are done in person; I don't ship boxes.
What if something breaks?
Every part carries its manufacturer warranty, and I handle the claim rather than handing you a phone number. Because I'm local, repairs and upgrades are house calls.
